Memorial Day weekend!

Oh how I love a 3 day weekend especially a weekend that revolves around food! Gabe and I kicked off the weekend having dinner with friends Friday night. I'm not sure what he loved more all the attention from everyone or On the Border's beans and rice!

Saturday we headed down to my parent's house for a barbecue. My parents went all out! It was a meat fest! Gabe enjoyed a hot dog and baked beans. He also really liked the angel food cake. He's really coming around to table food!

Sunday we headed to Maw Maw and Pa Pa's house! Gabe loved Maw Maw's gumbo, and he really loved her peach cobbler!

And today was spent running errands and playing in Gabe's pool. We maybe not so much in his pool but rather outside of it. He did not like being in it one bit! After the pool fun and a nap for Gabe we headed to Whole Foods for gelato. Gabe was a huge fan of Momma's chocolate/cheesecake combo!

What a wonderful weekend spent surrounded by people that we love to pieces!

Three generations of Lanoux's listening to the LSU baseball game

All ready for the pool!

"Maybe he might like it"

"Umm I think that's a no"

He me much preferred to sit on the outside and splash.

He did get in for a second to grab some toys

Look at those baby blues!

Gabe and David love to play Peek a Boo or rather just boo!

"That's Shocking!"

Gabe is just a sponge these days! I am amazed at how much he understands and how much he tries to communicate with us. I'm not exactly sure how we taught him this but when we say "Gabe, is that shocking?" He makes this crazy "shocked" face. Cutest thing ever!!!

Sour Grapes

We've been trying to introduce Gabe to new foods rather unsuccessfully I might add. Let's see we've tried scrambled eggs, pancakes, grits, pasta, jambalaya, chicken and now we can add grapes to the list. He hasn't really liked any of them, but we'll keep trying! Here's a video if him trying grapes for the first time. I think his face says it all!

Gabe's First Year

I made this video chronicling Gabe's first year a few weeks ago. I'm sorry I tried to make it shorter, but there were just too many pictures to include. Side note David and I both cried when we watched it... we sure are sappy!!!

Momapalooza

So Momapalooza kicked-off Friday night when my fabulous husband brought home 20 lavender tulips in honor of Mother's Day. They were beautiful!

Festivities swung in to high gear Saturday when Gabe, David and I headed to Monie and Pappy's for crawfish and a whole lot of family fun! We played croquet (David won) and Scrabble Slam... so much fun! Gabe loved being loved on by his Uncle Marty, Honey and Cousin Olivia.

Mother's Day was perfect! David got up with Gabe so I got to sleep in a bit... so thankful for that! Gabe and I got to spend some time together in the morning, and then David took him to visit Maw Maw which meant I had the afternoon to myself! Four whole hours to do whatever I wanted... what a gift! Once they got back we spent some time blowing bubbles in the yard. Gabe loved it, and David and I loved watching Gabe's reactions. He makes the funniest faces! The night ended with Gabe falling asleep in my arms which honestly hasn't happened in I don't know how long. Normally we just lay him and his crib and he falls right to sleep, but he wasn't having that! Instead he actually let me rock him to sleep which quiet honestly was the best gift he could have given me!

And a huge Happy Mother's Day to my momma, Gabe's Monie! I am so thankful for your love, support and guidance as I navigate this crazy thing called motherhood!

I love this face! Gabe has a million faces! This one is affectionately known as "bulldog."

Gabe was more interested in trying to eat the balls rather than hit them

Love, love, love the look on Gabe's face! About a second after I took the picture he took Liv's glasses off her face.

Bubble fun with Momma

I just love his expression!

So cute!

Love that baby!

And Happy Mother's Day to all of my fabulous bog readers!!!
