David, Gabe and I headed out this afternoon for ice cream and window shopping. I snapped this pic of Gabe smiling up at David... so cute!!!

Rash Update

Since the non-milk based formula didn't clear up Gabe's rash his pediatrician ordered a RAST test be done to help determine what he might be allergic to. According to Wikipedia... A RAST test (short for radioallergosorbent test) is a blood test used to determine to what substances a person is allergic. So I brought Gabe this morning to have two viles of blood drawn. Let me tell you I was not looking forward to this. I hated the thought of my little man being stuck with a needle but he was such a trooper! He only cried for a second, and I think that was because he didn't like me holding him so tightly. We should get the results back in a week or so.

***If Gabe's allergic to dust I wonder if David will let us get a housekeeper???

"Yours Are the Sweetest Eyes I've Ever Seen"

Happy 5 month birthday baby boy! We tell you all the time but you really are the sweetest boy a Mommy and Daddy could ever ask for! You are just the most fun!

You've had quite the busy month...

• You're now eating cereal and you love it! Fruits and veggies are soon to come!
• We're trying to figure out exactly what it is that you're allergic to. We now know it's not milk so the next step is having an allergy screening done.
• You roll over as soon as we put you on your back... you're still working on rolling over from tummy to back.
• We've been practicing sitting up...you're getting pretty close!
• You are the funniest little man I've ever met. You make Daddy and I laugh all the time!
• You love to sleep in the corner of your bed so that your head and face can touch the bumper. You definitely get this from me...I sleep with a pillow over my face!
• And speaking of sleep you now fall asleep at night without being rocked which is great but I so miss rocking you to sleep. We just lay you in your crib, turn on your sound machine and projector and you're asleep almost immediately and you've been sleeping for about 12 hours these last few nights from 7:45P to 7:45A. Wonder if this is just a phase?
• You sleep mostly on your back but we do occasionally find you on your side or tummy.
• Your hair seems to be coming back and it's kinda blond... very strange since Daddy and I have dark hair.
• You're such a little snuggle bug. I love it on Saturday and Sunday mornings when you come lay in bed with me and Daddy.
• You love it when we kiss the bottom of your feet, swing you in the air, when Daddy makes silly faces or when Mommy sings to you.... you squeal in delight!

Mommy and Daddy love you so much sweet boy! What an amazing 5 months!

Ever since Gabe arrived nearly 5 months ago David and I have heard one question over and over again... "who does he look like?" Well below is a picture of my dad when he was a baby... mystery solved!

Yesterday Renee and Kate came to visit. It was the first time we'd gotten Kate and Gabe together since Kate was a week old and Gabe was 11 weeks old... needless to say they look a bit different now! We had such a fun time playing with them on the activity mat, eating lunch with Uncle Eric and just laughing at how absolutely adorable they both are!

Chit Chat

Gabe is so chatty these days! I just can't imagine who he gets that from! Seriously if he's awake he's babbling about something.

The first video was taken earlier this evening. He's lying on me so my camera work isn't the best but I think you'll still enjoy it! The second video is from last night. I think he's practicing his bird calling skills!

Hey Fightin' Tigers

Well Gabe watched his first LSU football game last night. The game last weekend was way past his bedtime but last night's 6 o'clock kickoff worked out perfectly! Gabe's Uncle Curt (David's brother) and his Nanny (Curt's wife Judy) invited us over for the big game. Gabe doesn't have any LSU jammies so we dressed in his yellow duckie ones- close enough right?

Gabe watched nearly the entire game. He stayed up WAY past his bedtime but who could blame him...great company, yummy food and the Tigers! Thanks Uncle Curt and Nanny...hope to do it again soon! Geaux Tigers!

"Eat Mor Chikn"

Monie and Pappy came and spent Labor Day weekend with us! They said they were here to help us fill in the pond but we know the real reason...Gabe! I mean who could blame them?

Last winter Mom bought what we thought was going to be Gabe's Halloween costume. Well little did we know that we'd have a giant baby! Below are a few pics of Gabe in the costume while he can still fit it!

Also we took Gabe to his pediatrician Thursday so she could take a look at his rash. Gabe has had some sort of skin affliction basically since birth (baby acne, cradle cap) but for the past 2 weeks he's had a rash on his face, legs, arms and tummy. You can see how red his face is in the pics. The pedi thought that he might be allergic to milk and told his to give him Nutramigen and see if the rash went away. Well he's been on it for a few days now and we've noticed no change so it looks like it's time for an allergy test to find out what specifically he's allergic to. Poor little man!
